Holy Crow! Apparently there is some major fail going on at the FF.net. One really talented author got flamed for her fic and so she takes all her stories off FF and one other fic site. I don't really know the whole story though. It's really too bad, I'm actually a fan of her stories. I never even knew something was up and just noticed one day that her account had been deleted. Sadness... I hope she reads this post. Please dude! Approve my friend request. I have to know what happens to Tieguy and Skatergirl!

Seriously though, I never understood why some people flame authors for not liking their stories. Seriously, what is wrong with these people? If you don't like a story, don't effing read it. If you have nothing constructive to say, shut your mouth and go on your merry way. Then everyone will be happy.

Just read that Johnny Depp won the Golden Globe Best Actor for Sweeney Todd. While I haven't seen the movie, I know it's got to be a crazy one. Johnny Depp and Tim Burton? Heh! Too bad they didn't do a full-on awards show.

In other news, I had to go with the firm that offered more benefits. It made me sad and I was actually embarrassed for a while for only looking at the compensation aspect of their offers. Oh well, I'm not a gazillionaire and I can't afford to have my dream job yet. I hope I don't regret the decision in the long run. So thanks rowanceleste for the advice, it was very helpful.

What else? Uhmm... anybody know when a new ep of Supernatural will come on?

I've been at my current job for almost four years now, doing mostly paralegal work - research, writing, etc. Since I got my license to practice law almost a year ago, I've been itching to get a new job and so I sent out my resume to 3 firms. One creeped me out during the interview (think John Grisham's "The Firm" without them even trying to be discreet about it) and I politely told them to please forget I ever applied for a job with them. The other two Firm Q and Firm T, after a series of interviews, came back to me with job offers. I have to decide by tomorrow.

December rolls in and I’m instantly happy – for an entire month! I love this month. Not only because it’s Christmas of course but because it’s my birthday. Christmas in the Philippines is crazy-happy. Relatives come home, offices celebrate with parties and fat bonuses (yay!), people put up lights and decors on their homes and on the streets. Everyone just seems to be light-hearted and nice. And because it’s my birthday, they’re all extra nice to me. Heh! Seriously, I don’t think anything can dampen Christmas in the Philippines. I mean, just look at that foiled coup d’etat those soldiers staged in a hotel in Manila’s shopping district. They called for mass action against the government and people we’re like “Meh.. Sorry boys, we’re busy shopping.”


It was a good year for me. Passed the bar, traveled out of the country, finally went to Boracay, learned to drive, got promoted at work, and got a raise… What’s not to love?

As this is my very first post, I'd like to say hi to all those (yes all four) who friended me so far. Thanks for doing so even though my journal contained absolutely nothing, for all you know I could have been some crazed stalker or something. I appreciate that a lot.
